This web page provides access to NOAA Atlas 14 cartographic maps of mean precipitation frequency estimates calculated based on the analysis of partial duration series.
We recommend that these color maps are used as visual aids only. Precipitation frequency estimates can be obtained from the high resolution grids available from the PFDS interface.
Viewing the maps requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader (to download plugin, click here). When printed in their native size of 17" x 22" (ANSI C-size), maps from Volumes 1 and 2 have a scale of 1:2,000,000 and from Volume 3 a scale of 1:600,000 (however the maps can be printed at any size). The NOAA Atlas 14 Volume 2 (Ohio River Basin and Surrounding States) cartographic maps are divided into 5 zones. See the cartographic map zones for details.
